“I feel happy when I serve Krishna and the devotees”
Sarva-Dumadhuri dasi became part of the ISKCON community in Mayapur, West Bengal after her uncle encouraged the rest of the family.

Many of her earliest services included cooking prasad for sannyasis and other senior devotees at her uncle’s house.

Upon completing her college studies, she took the opportunity to move to Bhaktivedanta Manor, where she was delegated to serve in the main kitchen. After learning to cook for many people at a time, she now operates as the Kitchen Manager.
“I feel happy when I serve Krishna and the devotees,” she explains. “Cooking and eating is an essential part of everybody’s life, everyday and always.

“Therefore it is a very important service and all devotees naturally appreciate it. That feels good. Senior devotees have explained that cooking and serving prasad makes you very close to Krishna because you are offering to Him and then serving the devotees. This serving of devotees is what Krishna and Radharani like very much.

“Cooking prasad is a form of preaching and you are helping people in their spiritual lives because it is purifying and it’s Krishna’s mercy”
