Remembering Aindra Prabhu. Caturatma Prabhu ACBSP: I was...

Remembering Aindra Prabhu.
Caturatma Prabhu ACBSP: I was fortunate enough to spend time in NY with Aindra prabhu before he left the US for India, unknown at that time, never to return. He was developing his passion for the Holy Name and beginning to fuel the fire of bhajan. It was not possible to sit on the street and chant in one place. Nor would moving about allow for his full set up. So Aindra came up with a great innovation. He outfitted a panel box truck to met his needs. He decorated the inside with all the trimmings and appearance of a temple. Including an altar with his dear Lords, Gaura Nitai. Speaker systems were inside the truck. The devotees sat inside the truck. The book display dropped down off the side of the truck. He developed a winch system to mount the facade he hand made that looked like a temple. It was amazing. He would pull up to a busy street in NY, put come change into the parking meter, open the side of the truck, mount the temple facade, drop down the book display, and do bhajan for hours upon hours. So for a few handfuls of change he had the perfect Harinama arrangement. No one was “on the street” everything was inside the truck and his program was legitimately parked at a meter. A small crew were his dependable devotees for kirtan. He collected enough to cover gas, books and parking meters. This was, I truly believe, the beginning of his dream for what would one day manifest as the 24 hour kirtan in Vrindavana.
