At dawn on Janmashtami day, the atmosphere at the temple was warm and inviting. What was striking was the decor, one could not help but appreciate. Pillars were encased with matted leaves of coconut trees. There were new pillars made of hundreds of tender coconuts erected and bamboo bells hung from the ceiling. Ever heard of decorative door hangings at the entrance made of sugarcane? Well, you could see it here. Boughs of white and violet orchids interspersed with colourful carnations adorned the walls of the temple and the altar.
