
How to connect the mind with the maha-mantra.
HH Sacinandana Swami: In the Chandogya Upanisad we find an amazing analogy to the effects of breathing techniques on mind control: “A falcon in training, who is tied by a string to its perch, first flies in every direction finding no rest anywhere. But at last, it settles down on the very place that it is fastened to. In exactly the same way, my son, the mind first flies in every direction and, finding no rest anywhere, settles down on breath. For, indeed, my son, the mind is fastened to the breath.”
