Farsi's Magic: It's a Universal Yes! No One Says No to books in this language!
Bhakta Kevin, a sincere and excellent book distributor serving at the Los Angeles New Dvaraka temple, had been waiting for weeks for the ship to arrive from the printer to the port near Los Angeles. A special ship having on board over a dozen pallets of Srila Prabhupada's brand new Farsi (Persian) books -- in the native language of Rumi the poet and Iranians everywhere.
When that day finally arrived and the pallets were transported to the BBT warehouse, he immediately made beautiful, ribbon-tied stacks of the four Farsi books (see the last, close-up photo -- bound like that, like a gift or a present, they are called the "Four Kumara Stack"). And then he drove straight to an area he had discovered called "Little Persia", not far from the temple. He could not stop smiling as he effortlessly distributed 35 sets in just 2 hours!! He had days earlier been successfully distributing Arabic book stacks in that same area, but so many of the Iranian Farsi speakers would keep coming up to him, begging for the books in their own mother tongue! Then the books arrived and he could finally do that... but the ecstatic reception was far beyond anything he could imagine. In just a few weeks he has distributed 80% of the first pallet of Farsi Gitas alone... (Note to book distributors worldwide: These books are available right now from your local BBT division! And just like for Arabic, the Farsi books are giving 12X the book points for small books, and 3X the book points for the Gita size books)!
Incredible opportunities are happening as well with Farsi community leaders wishing to introduce him and the books to 100's if not 1000's of Farsi speakers gathered at large local cultural events... But that is for the next post!! Stay Tuned!
