Today in Manchester, Junior walked past me

Today in Manchester, Junior walked past me & turned back as if something pulled him to stop & ask about the Bhagavad Gita I was holding. He told me that in 2009 he collapsed while stepping out of a car at Manchester Airport. The next moment he found himself floating above his body in an ambulance, watching the paramedics desperately trying to bring him back. His soul then travelled to his children's home & to his mother's home, & later they all confirmed they were doing exactly what he had witnessed. Junior's soul then returned to the ambulance. He said he heard himself tell the paramedics, "Stop shouting? This is a beautiful ride." Then he suddenly entered back into his body. This out of body experience convinced him that he is more than the body and is a soul on a greater journey. He realised there is a God who is the Creator, and he no longer fears death. But he is now left with questions. Who is God and how does he, the soul, unite with God when he passes away? To find answers, Junior travelled to the La Gomera mountains in the Canary Islands and the deserts of Morocco, searching in meditation, isolation and silence. He had gone deeper but found no concrete guidance. Now he is back in his hometown of Manchester and told me he does not know his journey ahead. He has love for God but does not know where to turn next. Junior also told me that this morning he felt strongly that he needed to give money to someone today. He put it in his bag without knowing who it was meant for. We spoke about the changing bodies, the soul and Supersoul, reincarnation, karma, destiny and purpose. I shared that the Bhagavad Gita is not calling him to the mountains or the desert. It is calling him to be a yogi, a constant meditator on God in the chaos of life, not in solitude, away from it. Reading the Bhagavad Gita will guide him and take him exactly where he needs to be, whether in Manchester or wherever Krishna leads him next. Junior held the Gita to his heart and said, "This is what I've been looking for, and this is what the money was for." Manchester is full of searching souls, striving to live a spiritual life while carrying their material duties. May we continue to meet them. May we serve them. Srila Prabhupada is arranging every meeting, every moment and every miracle. I feel so deeply humbled to be one of his instruments in distributing his books.
