Devotee of the Month
Bhakta Tom!
Tom Prabhu, originally from Melbourne, met the devotees at the New Govardhana Farm, Murwillinbah about 3 years ago. He was travelling up the East coast, living in different communities and exploring different spiritual paths. He started volunteering as a WOOFER at the Krishna Village where he was involved in training the Bullocks. Bhakta Tom was put into accomodation which was close to the Temple so he started to visit the temple regularly. He was hooked. Tom said all of a sudden a year had passed in a flash and he was still there. He was attracted to the whole package of Krishna Consciousness meditation, kirtan, prasadam, the devotees, going on Harinama but he really enjoyed learning the philosophy and reading His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada’s books. In his own words, Bhakta Tom says Krishna Consciousness is the perfection of life.

Bhakta Tom has been at the New Gokula Farm for the last nine months and has been involved in a range of different services including building, maintenance, cleaning and looking after the cows. His favourite service is book distribution and harinam. Tom is very passionate about this service and continued performing this service even during the covid lockdown in Melbourne. He was following the instructions of Srila Prabhupada who said that harinama, which is the Yuga Dharma of this age should continue regardless of time, place and circumstances.

Thank you for your service Bhakta Tom.
