In Calcutta in 1972 Śrīla Prabhupāda was on a morning walk with many brahmacārīs. Some of the brahmacārīs complained that the women also lived in the Calcutta temple on Albert Road. One brahmachārī said, "Śrīla Prabhupāda, sometimes women do not cover their heads with sari." and "Why can't women find a place other than brahmacārīs? Their presence does not contribute to our brahmacārya lives."
