This week in Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 3, Chapter 6, we have been talking about the Demigods entering into the Universal Form of the Supreme. The Varnashrama System has also been mentioned. In India this has been misapplied as the Caste-System, which bases everything upon one’s birth in a particular family, which is incorrect. Although this may be the widely understood and practiced method of invoking the system in India, this is both a wrong concept and wrong application. The actual Caste-System or Varnashrama System is based upon the qualification or qualities that an individual actually has not solely upon their birth. In this talk, we discuss Varnashrama Dharma and why we practice a modified version of it.
