Do you remember me?
I was distributing in Byron Bay, Australia. When I approached a man, he asked, “Do you remember me?”
“No, sorry, I don’t.”
“Three years ago, you gave me the Bhagavad-gita, and I gave you a donation.
I thought it might help me through my troubled times. I had lost my business and my family, so I was drinking a lot. Basically I wanted to drink myself to death. Miserable.
“I would drink and then read a few words from the Gita. Then I would drink more, then would read more. This went on for quite a few days.
“One day I woke up in the morning and thought, I have to get my life together.
“I went back to England, where I’m from, and went to a rehab center. It was such a success that I ended up starting my own rehab center. Now I’ve also set one up here. And it all happened because of the Bhagavad-gita, which saved my life!
“And now that you’ve reminded me of this, I’m going to start using the teachings of Krishna when I give guidance to the drug and alcohol addicts.”
He gave a nice donation for another Bhagavad-gita and went on his way to help others.
