GBC Resolution passed unanimously on August 18, 2021:
Celebration of Srila Prabhupada’s 125th Anniversary Vyasa Puja
Whereas His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada is the Founder-Acarya of ISKCON, and his teachings and example are the guide and inspiration for the entire International Society for Krishna Consciousness;
Whereas celebration of his appearance in this world is an annual event of great significance for all ISKCON devotees throughout the world;
Whereas Srila Prabhupada’s Vyasa Puja Day 2021 marks the 125th year of his appearance in this world;
Whereas special advance events leading up to the celebration of his 2021 Vyasa Puja Anniversary were limited due to the impact of the global covid pandemic;
Therefore,
The Governing Body Commission requests all ISKCON regions, temples, and communities to highlight and celebrate Srila Prabhupada’s 125th Appearance Anniversary throughout the upcoming year, including Prabhupada’s Vyasa Puja Day 2021 and ending with Vyasa Puja Day 2022.
The GBC is particularly grateful for the ideas, themes and programs generated by the Prabhupada 125th Anniversary Committee in India.
The GBC recommends that devotees around the world to utilize the ideas the Committee has generated, including the official 125th Anniversary logo, as well as any other ideas and programs that may be locally initiated, to celebrate this historic year in a humble mood of gratitude and service to His Divine Grace.
