This article gives quotes from numerous Western poets, writers, thinkers and philosophers from over the years who have written about and given praise to India and its spiritual culture.

There is a renaissance of Vedic Culture, Sanatana-dharma, that is going on now more than ever. We can see this in numerous ways, such as the popularity of Yoga, or even Vedic astrology, or Vastu Shastra, Vedic art, or Indian dance, or how even Christians, though solidly devoted to their own faith, still find that the adoption of the Vedic philosophy of reincarnation and karma makes sense to them. So, they add it to their personal beliefs. However, such a renaissance has been going on for sometime now. After all the invasions that have happened to India, whether from the early Muslims, the Moghuls, the Catholic Portuguese, or the British, and so on, now we are seeing how the Vedic tradition is taking root in the lives of many people across the globe, and the respect that various scholars, poets and writers have had for this great tradition.

For one thing, we could ask why should we consider that Ancient India was so important? What did it have to offer anyone? And what did others have to say about Vedic India? And what difference does it make if it did spread over such a wide area and into so many different countries? And even if it did, why would this make a difference today?
