HG Srivasa Pandit Das departure
“His Grace Srivasa Pandit Das, departed at 3:49 in the early morning of March 13 2022, with devotees doing Kirtan in the holy land of Vrindavan.
His departure has shocked many whom he trained and nurtured. He is the person who started Krishna Consciousness in Myanmar and planted the seed there under difficult circumstances with very little support and manpower.
Prabhu was introduced to Krishna Consciousness through a Back to Godhead magazine. After hearing one of Srila Prabhupada’s tape, he decided to dedicate his life in serving Srila Prabhupada in ISKCON.
In addition to leading the ISKCON Myanmar Yatra, Prabhu also translated numerous books like Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagvatam, Caitanya Caritamrita and many other small books into the local language of Myanmar. Caitanya Caritamrita is planned to be launched this Gaur Purnima as an offering to Srila Prabhupada.
Whoever he came is contact with, he tried to connect them to Krishna. His sincere and reciprocating mood touched the lives of many. His life and preaching by example, reminds us all of the wonderful and unlimited mercy of Srila Prabhupada which he tried to distribute. All glories to Srivasa Pandit Prabhu!
