By Hari Narayana Das(With 271 photos) Commemorating the anniversary of Bandung city, October 18, 2014, the Government of Bandung organized a parade titled “Bandung Caang Festival”, in brief, ‘Bandung Flower Festival’. Caang means rays of light. The festival was followed up by many departments under Bandung government bringing their floats of light decorated cars to participate in the festival. The organisers also gave chance to cultural groups to join the festival. The devotees in Bandung and surrounding places were quick to seize this opportunity to glorify Srila Prabhupada by joining the parade with ratha yatra as a cultural performance. As Srila Prabhupada wrote in his letter “I am so much satisfied with your successful performance of Ratha-yatra festival and I am awaiting to see similar festivals in all our other centers….” SPL to Gurudasa, 16th July, 1968. This was the first Ratha Yatra in Bandung.
